Testimonials

Karen Pasternak, Connecticut, USA

"I have purchased 6 exquisite rugs from ALRUG company, and my mother bought one as well. Each one I bought is a different style: Jaldar, Kazak, Bokhara, and Oushak. Every single one is a beautiful piece of art, bringing character and style to my home. The colors are as displayed on the website, and the rugs seems meticulously constructed and solid.

I looked around, read many reviews, and decided to try with one first. I was very impressed with the carpet, that I proceeded to buy from ALRUG all the rugs for my new home. I was not disappointed. Very importantly, the rugs are at accessible prices, making it possible to own beautiful carpets in one's home.

ALRUG's selection is outstanding. What is also noteworthy, is that they will find exactly what you want if you do not immediately find it in their current selection. The choices seem vast. When I saw an item of interest, I presented it to them and requested a particular size or a different color variation - they found exactly what I was looking for.

From purchase to delivery, my experience has been that each step was executed professionally, ethically and seamlessly. The rugs arrived in excellent condition, and very promptly. The company and its team have proven very friendly and reliable, and I am grateful for their contribution - making my home beautiful and rendering the experience most pleasant.

I strongly recommend ALRUG as a reliable and resourceful company to furnish one's home with beautiful rugs - from A to Z.

Gratefully, ." Read this testimonial on Houzz

Buying a rug online is scary. Alrug made this process easy and reassuring. I found a rug on their site that I loved but by the time I was ready to buy it, it had been sold. I contacted the company and they said they could have the same rug custom made for me. They sent me updates through out the process and sent lots of high quality and detailed photos. Everything was as they said it would be. The color, size, quality, price and timeline. I could not be happier with the finished rug and the customer service. I am also pleased they state on their website "Our commitment to Fair Trade and Ethical Business Practices can be judged by the fact that we strictly enforce policies against child labor in cooperation with SOS Children Villages of Pakistan."

Design Description

Persian carpets are part of a magical story that began thousands of years ago. In Persia, they were the first floors, chairs and beds. For many families soft, hand-woven wool Persian rugs were the most valuable possession they had. Carpet weaving completely encompasses the art and culture of Persia. From treasured antiques that once graced palace floors to vibrantly colored shepherd's floor coverings, old or new Persian carpets tell a story that becomes more endearing with time.

Persian rugs may have been born out of necessity but fewer things have inspired so many. Village weavers added poetic beauty to these canvasses with their own unique designs and motifs. Mother Nature played her part by providing the vegetation and wool that became the host of colors and textures that makes each rug a unique piece of art. At ALRUG we believe that a Persian carpet is the heart and soul of a room. Along with bringing life to the decor of your living spaces, our rugs provide lasting warmth and comfort. That's why we are committed to providing our customers with a wide selection of exceptional quality area rugs, handcrafted to delight you, your family and guests for many years to come.
ALRUG specializes in handmade Persian rugs and other carpets. Enjoy our secure shopping, hassle-free return policy and free shipping directly to your home or business. Order your affordable, authentic Persian rug today!

Ardabil rugs originate from Ardabil located in the province of Ardabil Province in northwestern Iran, 639 kilometers from Tehran. Ardabil has a long and illustrious history of Azerbaijani carpet weaving. The reign of the Safavid Dynasty in the 16th and 17th centuries represented the peak of Azerbaijani carpet making in the region. Ardabil rugs feature motifs that are very similar to Caucasian rugs, but with more motifs and objects woven into the borders. The colors are also lighter. The patterns are predominantly geometric and the most common layouts on Ardabil rugs are medallions, multiple connected diamond-shaped medallions, and all-over octagonal shapes. The most recognized design found on Ardabil rugs is the famous Mahi (Herati) design - a diamond medallion and small fish throughout. Some modern weavers have begun to favor bold geometric patterns over the traditional Mahi (Herati) design and have added colors such as turquoise and purple to the more traditional red, pink, ivory, green, and blue.

More than 500 years ago, the Persians invaded Indo-Pak sub-continent from the northwest, bringing with them their most treasured possessions, their meticulously handcrafted rugs. Over time, this mingling of cultures gave birth to carpets with their own unique themes, delicate patterning and vivid palette of colors. Today, handmade carpets are produced in different cities in Pakistan like Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan among many others. Considerably less expensive than other rugs of this genre, they are ideal for virtually every room in your home.

The rugs in our Silk rugs collection consist of extremely intricately-knotted pure silk rugs from Iran, China and Pakistan. These rugs have curvilinear patterns, often with medallion-and-corner patterns. The piles are clipped short and the rugs are very thin and light. These are wonderful decoration pieces.
