beige-kilim-rug-6-x-9-no-vr66868
Beige Turkish Kilim Rug 6' x 9' Flat-Weave | No. VR66868

A vintage beige ground anchors bold geometric patterning across this six by nine foot Turkish kilim, its angular medallions and interlocking motifs rendered in the slit-tapestry tradition of Anatolian flatweave. Time has done its work well here: the beige tones carry a warm, sun-mellowed patina that softens the geometry without losing its precision, and the overall effect is quietly authoritative rather than loud. This is a rug that holds a room together without demanding attention.

It was woven in Turkey using the kilim technique, in which warps and wefts are interlocked without knots to produce a flat, reversible textile with a characteristically crisp geometric vocabulary. Anatolian wool, lanolin-rich from highland flocks, gives kilims of this type their durability and their subtle sheen, and the decades of age on this piece only confirm that quality. Vintage Turkish kilims from this tradition were woven for use, not for display, and they wear accordingly well.

At six by nine feet, this rug suits a mid-sized living room, a study, or a bedroom where it can anchor a bed frame and two nightstands comfortably. It works well in our vintage rugs collection alongside other aged flatweaves, and fits naturally among our 6 x 9 rugs if you are comparing proportions.
