The geometric field has softened over the decades into warm, honeyed tones, with the lanolin in the Anatolian wool lending the pile a low, creamy sheen that only comes with genuine age. The spacious composition typical of Oushak work reads clearly across the full nine by almost thirteen foot expanse, without crowding or visual noise. Time has mellowed the palette into something effortlessly easy to live with.

Woven in western Anatolia, where Oushak has been a distinct regional tradition for centuries, this hand-knotted rug was made using the symmetrical Ghiordes knot favored by Turkish weavers for its tight, durable structure. The wool is lanolin-rich Anatolian fleece, which resists soiling naturally and holds its patina well under daily foot traffic. These are not incidental qualities, they are the reason vintage Turkish pieces from this region remain usable and beautiful long after most modern rugs would show wear.

A rug of this scale suits a formal dining room, a generous living room, or a primary bedroom where the bed floats over the field.
