The geometric field unfolds across a long, narrow format, each repeated motif spaced with the generous, unhurried composure that western Anatolian weavers long favored. Time has done its work here, gentling the dyes and lending the surface a patina that no new rug can replicate.

Woven in Turkey using the Ghiordes, or symmetrical, knot tied into lanolin-rich Anatolian wool, this runner belongs to a tradition centered in the Oushak region of western Anatolia where weavers developed a distinct vocabulary of open geometric designs and soft, naturally derived colors. That dense, resilient wool accounts for both the texture still present in the pile and the rug's durability across what is clearly a long working life. It is exactly the material quality that makes vintage Turkish pieces worth seeking out.

At roughly two and a half feet by eleven and a half feet, this runner suits a hallway, entryway, or the length of a kitchen galley, complementing both aged wood floors and stone tile equally well.
