At $1,500 to $1,999 you are paying for craftsmanship that shows in the details: finer knots, crisper pattern lines and more carefully balanced colors. Many rugs in this range are large enough for a main living space, and some may be older pieces whose wool has softened with wear.
Age and condition matter more at this level. Ask about pile wear, repairs and fading, and compare photographs of the back as well as the front. If you are deciding between a traditional and a more relaxed look, our Oushak rugs and Oriental rugs collections show two quite different styles.
